Beauty Tips

Starting with the scalp is the trick to achieving healthy, shiny hair. By using the right bristles on a brush and treated yourself a few times a month to a scalp massage (which stimulates hair growth), you will be amazed at the results. I also like to tell my clients to condition more, wash less. Sometimes, over washing your hair can actually strip your hair of the natural oils it needs to grow and become healthy. Washing 3-4 times a week and conditioning in between is better on your hair. Eating healthy and supplements can also enhance shine and help with growth and breakage. 

KEEP YOUR HAIR SHINY & HEALTY

Rule number one is to stay within two shades of your current hair color for best results. Also take your skin tone and eye color into consideration when selecting your hair color shade. Definitely use a shampoo and conditioner specially formulated for color-treated hair, as it will continually nourish and protect your hair. I also advise treating your hair with a weekly deep conditioner and using a heat protection spray when heat styling — all of these products help to further protect and keep hair looking healthy. It also helps to reduce exposure to the sun and chlorinated water, as those elements can take out your color.

Sometimes styling a brand new cut at home is a concern for some clients. I make sure my clients feel 100% comfortable with styling their new cut before leaving my chair. However, I always like to leave them with this tip:  As a haircut grows out it will begin to develop a new shape. Don’t try and make a haircut that is 3 months old look like it did 3 months ago (Come back and see me!). Style it for what it is, not what it was. If you take care of your hair your original cut will transform into something new and beautiful as each day goes by!
